The Museum of the Moving Image was filled with interesting and diverse exhibits to show different many forms of media. The museum was also interactive which made it very unique. One exhibit that was interesting was the sound production exhibit. In this exhibit we watched a scene from the Titanic. During the scene, the two main characters, Jack and Rose were escaping to the top of the ship as it was sinking; slowly the boat was breaking apart and causing more destruction as the scene continued. During the first cut of the scene there was little to no sound, mostly just the actors speaking. Together, with our instructor, we added different kinds of sound and foley including the sound of part of the boat hitting the water, the screams of the people on the ship, people falling into the water, etc. This aspect of media production was very interesting to me because all of these small aspects completely change the way we see film and transforms movies into masterpieces. Also many of the foley sounds were interesting because they weren’t what they seemed and something completely random could really make or break the scene.
I also had time to explore the rest of the museum and look at aspects that were not necessarily a part of my tour. One exhibit that I found interesting was the small movie theater that showed old episodes of the muppets. The outside of the area was shaped like a movie theater and to go into the room you had to walk along uneven stairs which had different kinds of writing on the wall and mummies that popped up.

There were also other aspects of the museum that I enjoyed, like seeing the original screenplays from movies and seeing costumes and wigs from different movies and time periods. It was interesting to see how much has changed and what simple aspects stayed the same. Overall the museum was very interesting and I can't wait to go again!
